I'm in Chico myself. For short ride I like to ride out to Durham and take Durham/Pentz road out to Pentz and then right over to 70. From there go towards Quincy for about a quarter mile and then take Cherokee Road over to Oroville.
A bit longer ride this time of year is to take Hwy 32 over to Orland and go around Black Butte Lake to Elk Creek. Come back around to Willows but stop at Thunder Hill Raceway. Come spring, take 162 to Quincy and then come back on LaPorte Road. |

The Feather River Canyon, SR 70 to Quincy is a fine!!! road. Have lunch in Quincy then return via Bucks Lake and the Oroville Quincy Hwy/SR162.
Hwy 70 is smooth and fast with big sweepers. Bucks Lake Rd. and the Oroville Quincy Hwy is slower and narrower, but with lots of scenery. If you need more suggestions, try this link. http://www.pashnit.com/ridemap/ridemap.php |
